Observations, Remuneration, and Major Trends

Recruitment insights - Marketing, Communications and Creative roles

Each semester, Upward Marketing, Communication & Creativity provides an overview and analysis of the recruitment market for executives and senior managers in the creative and luxury industries.

Market trends

Based on our experience, here are the key trends in the recruitment market for the creative industries over the past six months:

  • Most large companies are going through a major restructuring process. They aim to become more agile, both in their processes and in their product and service offerings, to meet increasingly high customer expectations.

  • Hierarchical structures are flattening. In marketing and communications, hiring is shifting toward specialist profiles with a strong digital focus, capable of combining business vision, mastery of key levers, and data utilization. The “orchestrator” profile, at the intersection of strategy and operations, is now becoming the standard.

  • The key differentiator is no longer based on skills, but on the ability to navigate through uncertainty. Adaptability, speed of execution, and contextual intelligence: these qualities are becoming critical in environments and businesses that are constantly evolving.

  • Over the next six months, demand in Marketing & Business is expected to grow for performance-oriented profiles, particularly in growth marketing, capable of generating measurable results without losing product sensitivity. On the Creative side, “craft” is once again taking center stage: the ability to create meaning, coherence, and desirability is emerging as a true differentiator, complementing AI tools rather than competing with them.
